Texas City Sun: History in the Headlines
Headlines That Shaped a City: The History of Texas City in Print
Welcome to the Texas City Sun: History in the Headlines digital exhibit. This exhibit features curated articles from the Texas City Sun newspaper, that showcase the political shifts, social changes, industrial milestones, and community moments that have defined Texas City across the decades. Whether you are researching a specific time-period or simply curious about the forces that shaped this gulf coast city, the headlines here offer a powerful glimpse into the life and times of generations past.
The Texas City Sun: History in the Headlines online exhibit is a collaborative project between the Moore Memorial Public Library the Texas City Museum and UNT's Portal to Texas History, that brings decades of local reporting from the Texas City Sun together with the museum's decade-based timeline exhibits. This exhibit is made possible through a grant funded by the Texas State Library & Archives Commission and the Institute for Museum & Library Services.
